While the early centuries witnessed the town as a prime political base with acts of Jauhar being committed and several battles being fought; the latter centuries on the other hand saw the city develop as a significant cultural centre, especially during the rule of Rana Kumbha and others. All in all, Chittorgarh remained a prime destination in the region.
Climate
Characterized by a tropical climate; Chittorgarh experiences hot and humid summers and cold winters. Temperatures in the city range between 8 degree and 45 degree Celsius in winters and summers respectively. The city experiences scanty rainfall as well.
