Sawai Madhopur - Here nature rules prime

Sawai Madhopur is the nearest rail and road head to reach to the famous tiger reserve, Ranthambore National Park. Different from the other national parks in India, Ranthambore is best visited for its excellent tiger population and an ancient fort that is housed in its midst.

History
The history of Sawai Madhopur can be traced back to the times of Mughal rule in India and perhaps even prior to that. The modern town of Sawai Madhopur was founded by Sawai Madho Singh II of Jaipur who ruled over this town and its neighboring areas for several decades, except for a brief while when it was governed by the Islamic ruler from the slave dynasty, Iltutmish.
Attractions
The main attraction housed in this sleepy town is the Ranthambore National Park that is home to a large number of flora and fauna varieties. Tiger safaris and tiger sighting games are extremely popular here and guests come here to capture the various moods of the royal beasts, roaming freely in the wilderness of the park. A medieval fort, the Ranthambore Fort is also worth visiting to witness the magnificence of the Rajputana heritage and culture
